Celebrating our 37th season

New London Village Pottery
was founded by Daphne
Large in 1973
after graduating from Nova Scotia
College of Art and Design. The retail shop, gallery and pottery studio
are open six months a year in New
London, Prince Edward Island while pottery is produced year round.
Christine
Campbell, first
joined New London Village Pottery in 1974, and as an accomplished
potter, has played a key role in developing the studio's successful
line of
products.

The newest potter to join Village Pottery
is Kathy Etheridge, a multi-talented craftsperson who besides being a
potter, is also an accomplished spinner, weaver, and woodworker.
The shop has also had over 35 loyal
artisans supplying New London Village Pottery over the years.
The gallery on the second floor features
the original fabric
art of both Margaret England and Iris Etheridge. Also featured in
the gallery is the work of Rebecca Krupke.
Our gallery also includes the colourful weaving and
hand-felted work of artisans Elaine Schuller & Louise Lortie of
Fibre Ensemble.
In addition to pottery, paintings,
weaving, jewellery, clothing and gourmet foods the shop carries music
and books by Canadian East Coast musicians and writers.
We are proud to
be charter members of ArtisanPEI.com
Located in an 1855 building with a colourful history
- it was
moved
in 1905 and again in 1994 - the historic structure has served
as a Presbyterian manse, carpentry
shop, general store, post
office, gas station and finally an auto body shop before becoming a
pottery
studio.
